Wow! So you want to know more about me? Well, many of you know me as Miss Fitzgerald, but this summer I got married and my name changed to Mrs. Schaefer. This will be my 3rd year teaching at Pine Bush (but it's my 6th year teaching overall). My favorite part about teaching is getting to be creative and thinking of ways to help kids understand something that's difficult for them. I also love when my students get excited about learning - it makes me excited too and many cool things happen! When I am not teaching or doing school work, I love to run. In fact, I've run several marathons. Right now, I'm into running half marathons. I ran the Lake Placid Half Marathon in June and will run the Saratoga Half Marathon in September. The best thing about running races like those is that you get to set a goal, train and work toward it, and achieve the goal! I also love meeting new people when I train or race.

What else do I do besides school work and running? Well, I love to read. I read anything from historical fiction to non-fiction. I love any kind of book where I can visualize what's going on and feel like I really know the characters. I also love to read magazines - especially "Runners' World" and "Cooking Light" because I also love to cook and they have lots of neat recipes to try out. Other things I love to do are: work in my flower and vegetable gardens, hang out with my friends and family, do any activity outside (especially hiking and kayaking), and find ways to make my website even better. When it's winter, I love to downhill ski. Nothing beats a cup of hot cocoa and a fireplace after skiing! So now you know a lot about me.
