About Miss Fitzgerald
Where is Miss Fitzgerald from?
I grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire (up north). When I graduated high school, I attended Keene State College and earned a B.A. Art, Graphic Design. I worked for a couple years as a graphic designer for a company specializing in supplying artwork for trophies and awards. I realized that although I liked the creativity that job allowed, I wanted to be a teacher. So, I went back to graduate school, again at Keene State College, and earned a Master of Education in Elementary Ed. Now I live in Albany.
What has Miss Fitzgerald taught?
The 2010-2011 school year will be my 5th year teaching. I have taught Kindergarten and 5th grade, as well as third! I absolutely love teaching at Pine Bush. My favorite things about teaching are watching kids grow and see them use what they've learned in class. Another favorite thing is that everyday is a little different and that I get to know so many different children!
What does Miss Fitzgerald do when she's not teaching?
I am a runner and am always looking for fun races to run. Last year I ran both the Chicago Marathon and the Flying Pig Marathon. Since I recently bought a house, I have been learning a lot of new things about painting, tiling, and so much more. I like to work on house projects. In the winter, I ski almost every weekend at Gore Mountain.
During summer vacation, I enjoy gardening and love to be outside as much as possible. At the beginning of the summer I got a new kayak so I have had fun using that. Hiking is another activity I enjoy doing. I also love to read. My favorite books are biographies and mysteries. I also love to read anything that makes me laugh.
